Congratulations to Jill Prand on her sequel to Watch Me Walk Away from the Walking series! This is one of my favorite series. I fell in love with the first one when she gave me the honor of beta reading for it. I quickly became a fan of Brad’s character because I have been in the same situation he has been in. Being in love with your best friend, but the feelings aren’t mutual. Watch Me Walk Away ended with Brad watching Lisa walk away from him and into Bobby’s arms and once again he was heartbroken. As much as the first book was mainly Lisa’s story with a little Brad in it, Walk into Me was Brad’s story with a little Lisa.
I would have to say that since I relate more to Brad that his book was and is my favorite of the two. There are so much more emotions from all the characters this time around. As I read through the pages I was so engrossed in what would become of Lisa and Brad that I couldn’t put it down and If I had to it just didn’t sit right with me to be apart from the story for any matter of time.
Being the great guy that Brad is he never went about pushing Lisa, he just remained her best friend and did things that only Brad could do because he knew her so well. He tried putting his feelings aside so that he could be there for her as a friend, the way she wanted him to be even though it was slowly killing him inside. It was killing me inside all over again to read the turmoil he was fighting with within himself. Lisa was bothering me most of the book because I felt as though she was playing games at some points (even though I know she wasn’t, but it still felt that way). For her to tell Brad that she was starting to have feelings for him and wanted to possibly explore them, but still be with Bobby just made my heart clench for Brad. I don’t know if I could have had the strength to do all the things Brad did for Lisa in Walk Into Me. There is no one else for him, but her and I wish and pray that one day I could find someone that into me.
Jill Prand has away of telling a story through her characters that make you not want to lift your eyes off the page for not even one second. I love that she makes every character in the book have a meaningful purpose whether they are main characters or secondary characters…by the end of the book you feel connected to each and everyone of them for a different reason. Again the emotions that are within the pages are real and I know so because I have been through some of the incidents that take place in the story.
Walk into Me is definitely a must read and I recommend everyone to read both book 1 and 2. Don’t fret there are hot sex scenes in the book that have you needing an extremely cold shower. You will love Brad even more after book 2, I promise!
