Manwhore. Adrenaline junkie. Lead singer of ContraBand. What you see is what you get. I make no apologies for my actions, and by now no one expects any from me. I live my life the way I want and as long as it pushes the demons back, then I'm solid. I've never needed a chick for more than a good lay. Why would I need just one when I can have a different one every night?
Until she walks into my world.
Mouthy. Perfectionist. Princeton student. Chemistry major. Yes, that pretty much describes me. Oh, and virgin. But I'm only nineteen, and have more important things to concern myself with. What really matters is finishing my degree and getting a good job. I’ve worked hard for what I want, and do what’s expected of me. I don’t need anyone to get in my way.
Until he opens up my world.
But if I give you my world, whatever you do…don’t TAKE ME for granted.

I absolutely love this book. It is a bit similar to something else that I have read meaning the concept of a good girl with a bad boy and along the way the good girl has major influence on the bad boy causing him to see his way sand change for the better.
With that said, it still doesn’t make me like this book any less. I honestly never wanted this book to end. I even tried reading slower so that it would drag on, but there were parts that I just couldn’t take it anymore and need to find out what was to come next.
“Yeah, I want to have sex with you. What guy wouldn’t? What I mean is that I want you here, like this. I want you to stay the night. I want you to just be here…with me.”
Aribel is a Princeton student that is all about her studies. She comes from a very prestigious family that all basically went to and graduated from Princeton. Her plans are to do extremely well in college, graduate, find a great job and find a great guy to have a future with. Nothing else really matters. The book starts off with her breaking up with her boyfriend and not really being effected by it, but more distracted with her homework. Her friends learn of her break up and take it a bit harder than Aribel and convince her that she needs a night out with the girls and drag her out against her better judgment. Her roommates take her to a Contraband show in the area where she meets the lead singer Grant! Grant is everything Aribel is not interested in and would never give the time of day therefore Aribel wants nothing to do with him. However Grant doesn’t seem to want to take a hint. In order to get him to leave her alone switches their drinks, what Grant doesn’t know is he is drinking the beer that was drugged by his fellow band mate Vin thus starting up a drama filled, passionate, intense story of Aribel and Grant.
“That’s not an excuse! I’ve never been with an asshole rocker who thinks he’s god’s gift to women, but you don’t see m humiliating you in public! Or better yet, sneaking out of your house and then not speaking to you for three days!”
I happen to really love these stories when the hot bad boy falls for the girl that either no one notices or everyone thinks she would never have a chance in hell with someone like him and vice versa.
The characters that K.A. Linde created are both similar to each other in way and different all the same. Both characters are strong willed and stubborn which you read a lot of within the pages of this book and several times Aribel herself points that out. But at the same time each opens up something the other was missing thus making them a perfect fit for each other. The relationship between the two of them was very intense and passionate.
“Damn, Ari, I’m not going to lie to you. I’ve wanted to get laid something fierce. Blue balls and I have gotten comfortable together. I haven’t gone this long without sex since…ever.”
Grant has a dark past that not even his band mates know much about, but know that he buries it under booze and hot women every night. This very secret that he as been keeping to himself is what is eating away at him and keeps him from fully expressing his feelings and showing who he really is underneath. Aribel is the one person that helps Grant face those fears and makes him learn and realize things about himself that he never knew before.
“Every time I see you, princess, I’ve felt better. Every single day you push away the pain and the memories. You’re my life raft in an endless ocean. You saved me from drowning. You saved me from myself.”
Aribel while dating grant realizes that the future and picture her family exudes and paints for her is not what she wants for herself and that she has indeed been living in a bubble. It’s not until Grant that she realizes that she is missing out on life with her nose constantly in a book and that not all distractions are bad.
“I was fucking miserable without you. I wanted to give you the space you asked for, but I fucking wanted you with me every goddamn second you were away, Ari. I don’t know what else I can say to prove that to you.”
I would recommend this book to anyone that loves stories with hot rockstars in them and a great love story. I’m hoping that there is more of Aribel and Grant to come because Grant is definitely my new book boyfriend!
